Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced the resumption of flights between Georgia and six other countries on March 1. “The Coordination Council has decided that citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus will be allowed to enter Georgia with a negative PCR test result.”

Citizens of several other countries have already been allowed to enter Georgia, including Turkey, the European Union, Israel, Switzerland, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

A number of restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus will be lifted in Georgia on March 1:

  • Kindergartens and private kindergartens will reopen, with twice-monthly mandatory testing of 20% of employees;
  • Museums and libraries will open across the country.
  • The interiors of restaurants in Batumi can serve seated customers.
  • Practical and laboratory activities of higher and vocational schools will be able to take place in auditoriums.
  • Exams can be conducted in a non-distance format.
  • Conferences and training can be held live and in accordance with the relevant protocol.
  • Flights of several other countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, etc., have been opened to Georgia.
  • The curfew will continue from 21:00 to 5:00.

On Monday, March 8, several other restrictions on the coronavirus in Georgia will be eased:

  • In-door restaurants in other parts of Georgia, including Tbilisi, will resume on March 8.
  • From March 1, higher and vocational schools will resume clinical, practical, laboratory activities and conduct face-to-face examinations. The training process in the hall will start on March 15.
  • Theaters, sports clubs, professional groups will resume training on March 15 and full activities on April 1.
  • Non-food retail stores (shopping malls, markets) will be open on March 8, including weekends.
  • The stadiums will start operating on March 15.
