All shopping malls in Georgia will be open from January 2. During this period, customers have the opportunity to buy bulk clothing, electronics, jewelry and other items, however, they must adhere to additional restrictions and regulations imposed by the government in order to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

Shopping malls in Georgia are allowed to operate only if they follow the above rules:

  • Stores are open from 7 am to 7 pm.
  • Social distance inside stores and outside must be observed (20 square meters of space per customer is required.)
  • Peru rooms will be closed in stores. (Return policy or exchange of goods is allowed during 1 month.)
  • Restaurants in shopping malls will be completely closed.
  • Wearing mask inside and outside stores is mandatory.
  • In case of identification and violation of laws, any action stated in the law, including penalties and suspension of activities, will be applied.

From January 3, the shops will be closed again and only online shopping is allowed. They are expected to be allowed to work live from January 16.

Notably, travel restrictions will be lifted from 21:00 to 05:00 as an exception on New Year’s Eve and on the night of January 6, Georgia Christmas. However, the government is urging citizens to celebrate the New Year in the family circle.

From January 3 to January 15

All restrictions will be reinstated from November 28 to December 24.

Public and private institutions will not operate, except for banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, pet shops and strategically important services.

From January 16 to January 31 across the country:

Intercity transportation operations, domestic and foreign shops and markets (excluding weekends) will be revived.

But on weekends, transportation, shopping malls and other markets stop working.

During this period, transportation by car (including taxis) is not restricted and no restrictions are imposed on other economic activities, including:

Public and private repair and construction activities – authorized;

Banking and financial activities – authorized;

Grocery stores, pet grocery stores, pharmacies, veterinary pharmacies, household chemical and health stores, and press booths are allowed to operate.

Delivery and transportation services are allowed.

Activities of beauty salons and beauty medical centers – authorized;

Car maintenance and technical inspection services – authorized;

Appliance Repair Services – Authorized;

The operation of agricultural markets is allowed.
