A vaccination plan has already been designed by the Ministry of Health and will be reviewed by the Inter-Agency Coordination Council, which will approve it at a future executive government meeting.

“Georgian citizens will receive high-quality vaccines authorized by international health organizations,” Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated at the executive government meeting today.

Vaccination Plan In Georgia:

“There have been a lot of nonsense about vaccinations and we can’t even guess where these ideas or information came from. A commission on vaccination has been set up by the Ministry of Health,” he added. The commission has several programs to achieve its goals, the first is to address all the issues related to procurement, and everything must be prepared to start vaccination in the country, the second is to define the target groups that will be vaccinated in the first stage. “The third is to ensure that internationally licensed quality vaccines are provided as soon as possible, not only through the COVAX platform but also through others.”

The first two plans have already been reviewed by the Ministry of Health and a program has been considered for it. The plan will be presented to the council on Monday and will be implemented at the next government meeting.

“So there will be no further question marks, I reiterate that Georgian citizens will receive quality vaccines that will be authorized by international organizations,” said Giorgi Gakharia.

Georgia is also expected to receive the Corona vaccine in March or April 2021 through the globally available COVAX vaccine facility, according to recent reports. However, the country is in talks to get the vaccine even before that.
